Norman residents can comment and ask questions about proposed changes to Porter Avenue during a citizen discussion scheduled for Tuesday evening at a Norman City Council meeting.

The city council will consider a resolution adopting the Porter Corridor Plan, which was passed unanimously by the Norman Planning Commission on September 10. The plan calls for changes to a 60-block area, called the Porter Avenue Corridor, including the establishment of a barrier between residential and commercial properties as well as the narrowing of Porter with the addition of turning lanes.

"Oh my gosh, I hate turning lanes," said Autumn Brown, a psychology senior who lives near the intersection of Robinson Street and Porter. "They're just so dangerous, and there are always wrecks involved. I am thoroughly confused about this."

The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at 201 W. Gray St. in the Municipal Building Council Chambers. The City of Norman can be reached at 405-366-5406.
